Description
AIM OF THE TELEHANDLER TRAINING COURSE:
This course will provide participants with the knowledge and skill to undertake all necessary steps in order to carry out the safe operation of Telescopic Handlers, including site safety during operation of the equipment. Participants will also be able to carry out pre-start and stop checks.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
On completion of the course candidates will have an updated knowledge of health and safety awareness and be able to work at a significantly lower risk to themselves and others whilst operating the equipment and be able to operate the item of plant to the requirements of the current legislation.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
Telehandler Training Course Candidates require previous experience and must be able to certify that they are physically fit and have no medical conditions that might prevent them from attending this course. Delegates should be able to write and speak in English. Safety equipment will be supplied by your trainer.
COURSE SUMMARY:
Candidates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations / exercises, all of which are highlighted by the use of Video Presentations covering:
- The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
- Operation of plant to minimum standards
- Checking the plant / pre-shift checks
- Preparing machine for travelling on site or road
- Loading at height
- Scaffold loading
- Routine Maintenance
- Practical use of plant
CERTIFICATION:
Card & Certificate of Competence, valid for 3 years before renewal
