Description
AIM OF THE SLINGER SIGNALLER TRAINING COURSE:
To provide individuals with the required level of underpinning, theoretical knowledge and to develop their practical skills in order to achieve a level of competence to allow them to conduct lifting operations as part of any lift plan.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
Slinger Signaller Training Course Candidates will require previous experience and must be able to certify that they are physically fit and have no medical conditions that might prevent them from attending this course. Delegates should be able to write and speak in English. Safety equipment will be supplied by your trainer.
COURSE SUMMARY:
Candidates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations / exercises, all of which are highlighted by the use of Video Presentations covering:
- Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations
- Introduction to BS7121
- Roles and responsibilities of Slinger Signaller
- The lifting team
- Types of lifts and loads
- Types of lifting accessories
- Load center of gravity and weigh
- Selection and inspection of lifting accessories
- Arranging the load
- Arranging the landing site for a load
- Attaching accessories to a load
- The trail lift and subsequent adjustments to a load
- Moving and guiding a load and lifting machine
- Communication: verbal, hand signal and radio use
- Landing the load
- Detachment of lifting accessories and storage
- Practical assessment exercise
CERTIFICATION:
Card & Certificate of Competence, valid for 3 years before renewal
